Version 1.2.0 Released
Repair Functionality Modified
V1.1.0 of Access Maintainer would repair all databases if the Repair
checkbox was ticked. This has changed in version 1.2.0 which
will now only repair a database if that database is a MS-Access version
2.x database or the database cannot be opened, responding with a database
corrupt error.
This means that you can safely leave the Repair (v2.x only)
checkbox ticked as the default.
Explorer Context Menu
Access Maintainer is now available from the Context Menu in
Windows Explorer. If an MS-Access (.mdb) file is right-clicked then
the menu will list an option to "Compact with Access Maintainer".
If clicked the application will start, process that specific file, if required
(i.e. it has changed since the last compact) and then exit.
Start Minimized
A minor change was released in this version to ensure that the Start
Minimized checkbox only applies when Windows starts Access Maintainer.
When the application is invoked from the Start Menu, Access
Maintainer will open on the desktop as a normal window, no matter
whether "start minimized" is selected or not.
Processing Log in Notepad
The Processing Log portion of the application now uses the windows
Notepad program as it's viewer. This enables more flexible printing
and saving of Processing Logs. If you wish to use another text file editor
you may specify the editor name under menu File -> Options -> Log Viewer.
You may be able to enter just the file name for some editors that are known
to Windows. i.e. "NOTEPAD" or "WRITE". But for other editors such as Microsoft
Word you may need to type the entire path and file name. i.e. "C:\MSOFFICE\WINWORD\WINWORD.EXE"
